I got a brand new starter, the relay is new and the battery was dead so I tried to jump it and it would just make a buzzer like sound and nothing else, I have a good ground to the block and to the starter, is there supposed to be anymore wires other than the ground on the starter? And if not can anyone give me any other suggestions to figure this out

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Should be a big red wire from the starter relay to the positive terminal of the starter.

Your starter circuit should be like this one.

Depending on how dead your battery was/is jumping may not be enough or poor jumper cable connections

All I have is the big black wire going from the relay to the starter I’ve never seen a big red one

Black is fine. Just keep in mind that is 12volts positive. Not a ground.

The starter grounds itself to the engine block. There should be a big ground wire from the engine block to the battery or frame. Ii forget which one and don't have the drawings in front of me.

The ground wire runs from the negative terminal of the battery, bolts to the frame in one spot, then the wire runs back further and bolts to the motor

Okay then my ground is good so I think it might just be the battery I’ll get a new one next time I have time off and see if that works

You need to remember that any resistance in the battery cables will likely prevent the starter from operating. Even 1 ohm of resistance will leave you dead in the water.

I would suggest googling voltage drop testing and learning how to perform the test. Then take your new found knowledge and testing your battery cables.

I think this is the issue because I used jumper cables to supply only positive power straight to the starter and it kicked right on so I think the powers dropping somewhere
