Alright so I've got a 1998 Ranger Splash 2wd with front coil springs. It has this annoying squeak in the front end when I drive down the road. When I bought it about 4 months ago the guy put in brand new suspension as it was previously slammed. I've had it up on a lift and looked at everything but haven't been able to spot the culprit.
Could it be something other than suspension or am I just blind?

Cab bushings can be squeaky, and there are 6 of them. Check the rubber to see if it is excessively soft or bulged out. Polyurethane rubber bushing replacements are fairly inexpensive, actually cheaper than Ford rubber replacements.

ball joints should be a part of the new suspension but it can never hurt to re-check. Also the sway bar. Hmmm don't remember what it looked like.

I have no idea where to looks for cab bushings. Or what they look like.

Thanks!

Between the body and frame. Its the bushings the body sits on and the body bolts go thru the body bushing. Also the same place that the body lift goes if you do a body lift

Sloue, there is no radius arms on the 98's.

Tie rods, ball joints, or sway bar bushings and links. They can all make a squeaky squeak noise.

The ball joints can be tricky to diagnose. All of mine appeared tight but once you pushed or pulled at the joint with a prybar, you could see play.

I had a squeak like that!! Drove me CRAZY. Turned out to be the cab bushings/rubber mounts. I sprayed the hell out of the with PB blaster since they were intact. Problem solved!!
