Anyone know the limits for the radius arms for bigger tires? I have an '86 Bronco 2 I am doing a Dana 44 solid axle swap from a '79 f150. I hope to put 38" tires on the truck with stock ford 15" rims. Anybody have experience with a similar swap and know if I need aftermarket radius arms to keep tires from rubbing too much?

Is this going to be a trail rig or a street rig?

Mostly play in the mud at Red Necks With Paychecks and some trails with the family. Not looking to make it through the huge holes, that’s what 50” and up tires are for.

Although its been done thousands of times, 38" tires on 1/2T axles is not ideal. You will be asking for twisted axles.

As for the lift I think 36" tires require a 6" lift, after that you may need complete suspension redo.

I should have mentioned, there will be a hack saw involved. B2 is getting a 2” body lift to help with 351w motor swap. Biggest concern is the radius arms when turning.

Do 38s rub on a FS truck?

I am late to the party here but I have 35" Goodyear MTRs on 15x8 aftermarket wheels and they rub the radius arms at full lock and also the shocks at certain times. Stock wheels will be even worse. I think with chromoly shafts and smart driving you will be OK with that tire size as far as axle breakage goes but you are right at that point where you should be thinking about one tons.
