I'm looking for a smooth tailgate for a gen I Ranger.

Anybody know where I could get one?

would it have to be custom made?

LMC has a tailgate shell that you can weld on to smooth out the whole thing.

I looked there and couldn't find it. I'll try again.

OK, I found that. That won't work. this is a lifted truck, not lowered. The handle needs to be on the outside. I guess I will have to have one custom made.

It will end up as a new paint project for Wifey.

www.mar-k.com Then you just cut a hole in it. Its just a skin, replaces the stock skin.

Thanks ZMan but, That is identical to what LMC has. Lmc probably buys them from this company. If it were about half that much ($50) I would be willing to buy it just to hack it up. I can buy enough 16gauge sheetmetal to fill in my hole for about $20. then it is just a matter of welding and filling. I hate body work though, It is just never good enough.

thats why the skin is so nice, its just a handfull of plug welds, very limited bodywork. You pay for the conveniance really, and imho $100 isn't that bad.
