Small idle issue

I'm going to dive into this issue over the weekend but wanted some of your guys thoughts.

This might be a dumb question since this is my first standard transmission, but I SHOULD be able to idle in 1st and 2nd gear, correct? The problem I'm having is that while going around a turn slowly (2nd gear) or slowing down for a stop sign (1st) the truck will occasionally just die.

No jerking, weird engine noises or anything. It just quietly dies. I can drive the truck just fine, no fuel delivery issues as far as I can tell, and the truck will idle in place just fine.

When I unplug the IAC it dies, so I'm thinking the TPS voltage is too low?
Both the IAC and TPS are new, so should be functioning correctly but I will check

According to the book, ,when you unplug the IAC on a 2.9 v6, it should idle somewhere around 600-675 rpm. The target for the computer once it's plugged back in is around 750. All these numbers are a little bit lower for automatic trans.

That may help your situation some. What I would do first is make sure the throttle body is clean. Obviously the IAC is clean since it's new. If you are sure it's clean, then unplug the IAC and then turn the idle stop screw till you get the desired rpm. Once you plug in the IAC it's not going to act right till you run it through a couple of drive cycles.
