I have been looking into the possibility of either buying to building a camper for my ranger, as a 2007 4.0 4x4 auto. I would have quite a bit of leway if I went with a trailer (5220lbs in ideal conditions) but with the kind of roads I'm driving a camper is really the way to go....

I know it's rare but for those who have a camper, how did it affect your weight distribution? Which axle has ended up closer to its gross weight?

Did you buy yours? Did you have to build it? I've been having difficultly finding one that will fit the ranger

If you will google up "small slide in truck campers" or "mini truck slide in campers" many photos will come up, indiciting names/brands/models. Once you have those, you can check your local "rv's for sale" web sites, and local camper outlets.

I would recommend a pop up top model to keep the center of balance down.
