Does the 2.3 use the M5OD-R1 for the manual? IF so you'll need to pull the transmission to get to the clutch slave cylinder. I have a 3.0 '94 and for me once pulled there were two bolts I had to loosen and the slave cylinder came right out. Installation in this case is the reverse of removal. While you have it off you should check everything: clutch plate, flywheel, pressure plate, throwout bearing, rear main seal and any freeze plugs on the back of the block. IF your clutch uses a quick disconnect at the transmission like mine does DO NOT pump the clutch pedal until you reconnect that. That allows air into the line and it is a massive PITA to get that air back out of the clutch line. You'll need a transmission jack or a mod on a floor jack in order to safely lower the transmission out of the truck.
