I love how this turned into a drum brake debate lol
I really dont notice a difference in them. Assuming the drums are adjusted right. But to each their own. Personally im pretty indifferent either way, but like usual i get jumped on because im not on the "new is better" bandwagonIn no universe is a drum brake better than a properly engineered and sized disc brake on a passenger vehicle. It's physics man.
I didn't say drums don't work, I just said they were not better than a disk brake system. The disk brake was first patented in 1902, so it's not really "new" technology. Like so many other things, it just took it a while for someone to perfect it and mass market it.I really dont notice a difference in them. Assuming the drums are adjusted right. But to each their own. Personally im pretty indifferent either way, but like usual i get jumped on because im not on the "new is better" bandwagon
In this case it’s not “new is better” it’s “better is better”...I really dont notice a difference in them. Assuming the drums are adjusted right. But to each their own. Personally im pretty indifferent either way, but like usual i get jumped on because im not on the "new is better" bandwagon
The color matches, and I can't imagine a Dodge doing anything else usefulAlso, don't know if this was mant to stop a Dodge, or if it means the Dodge should be used as an added boat anchor....
Hence why i said drums are just as good till they get hot.In this case it’s not “new is better” it’s “better is better”...
They’re better at releasing the gasses that get trapped between the friction material on the rotor/drum surface.... one of the major causes of brake fade. Plus vented rotors tend to cool faster then drums.
The foot brake drag racers prefer drums in the rear for staging. They tend to hold a little more RPM on the starting line when staging on the foot brake in classes that don’t allow trans brakes. They’re willing to sacrifice some stopping power at top end for a better launch.
