Heh, well, not really, but I'd love to get my hands on this truck. Only thing is, I have no idea if what's wrong with the engine is easy to have fixed or if it might mean the engine is shot. Since I'm all the way up in NH I really would have to get it fixed before driving it home. Anyone want to tell me if it's easy to have fixed or not? Hell, for that matter, anyone local want to quote me on doing a 302 swap for me? j/k on the 302, my price limit is about $1000 total. :)

Why am I looking at trucks in NC? I have family there and was thinking of flying down, driving an older rust-free RBV home with my fathers table saw in the back.

There is no telling how much it has already been driven in this condition. Water in the oil causes serious damage in a relatively short time. I'd look at it as needing a motor rebuild/replacement. New heads are probably a minimum of $500 just to buy them.

$500? No kidding, shows what I know. I wonder if I could get newer 2.9 for that price.

I think the 2.9 was stopped about 1992. Any Junk Yard motor would be questionable too. Unless you could see it run before it was pulled.

Which 4.0 is plug and play? I'm assuming you mean push-rod and not the SOHC. If it's the SOHC, hell, I may have to cash in my stock and pick that sucker up.

Yeah, I was thinking that myself, but how salvageable is an engine like the one that's in there if it's had a lot of coolant going through it? Is it even rebuildable?

I swear, 10 years ago I knew all these answers, see what graduating college and buying new cars does to you?

Gotta tell ya...I'd buy it for a great project. If its really that clean in person that is...

As far as the engine goes, who knows how long its been driven like that. Itd be a risk buying something like that but for that price...I'd buy it:icon_thumby:

91-94 are the best for the swap. There are a couple articles in the tech section. I'm waiting for better weather to do mine. I'm going off what people have said and done on here. The 90 B2 is wired for a 4.0, but none made it in. So if u can find a 91-94 ranger/explorer w the same tranny as u have, get the harness computer and engine and put it in.:icon_thumby:

That looks like it belongs to the creepy guy in the bowling alley from the movie "Uncle Buck"

Well, my wife said I could get it until she found out it needed an engine.

Anyone down there want to quote me an engine swap? :)
