'94 2.3l 5 speed no AC California emissions. Some time ago I tried the advice of swapping the wires on the exhaust side coil (front secondary coil) so that they all spark on the fire stroke. Today I realized that my primary coil was not firing on one and four. So I swapped the two coils with one another and got the same result. The coil in the primary position doesn't fire on one and four, no matter which coil is in that place. WHY!?!?! :bawling:

It's probably because you are double posting topics.

I wouldn't move the spark plug wires around. The way Ford had the dual plugs set up you have both spark plugs firing on the compression stroke and the waste spark goes to the two plugs on the exhaust stroke of the joined cylinder. 1 and 4, 2 and 3 are joined and share spark on compression and exhaust. Because you've swapped coils and it didn't help the next this I would look at is wiring and PCM.

It won't hurt to check the ignition module too.
