Had a manilla folder in the mailbox when I got home :) Thanks Jim. Now I suppose I need to give the truck a bath and pick a spot

I haven't seen any new Rangers on the road. The dealerships have them all in the $40K and over price range. My Friend plans to buy one. He just doesn't want to pay more than $40K for a Ranger. The dealer said they will call him when they get a more base 4x4 Ranger in.

Our dealership has a white one. That's it. A fully loaded one. The guy I refuse to call a salesperson said if they could sale it they would get 2 or 3 more. I said they could sale a few more if they had a couple of less optioned ones that people would consider buying. It's nice to see what all is available on one in person, but then you can dial it back to more reasonable price with usable options if you wanted to.

Same here, white Lariat. Special order and the guy walked away after they got it in.

In the middle of farm country I don't think they think Rangers are going to sell well to stock a ton of them anyway. Supposedly they have more on order. I stopped by to grab a brochure a few weeks ago to put with my Detroit reveal stuff and they didn't even have those.

They are notorious for only stocking loaded crap though, F-150's on their lot are generally $55k+.

Your dealership has one, and they're not going to order more unless they see that they can sell it???

Who's the dealership?

That's what he said. Or that's the last one before they get more???? I called bs (in my head). I think he was really trying to push that white one. It was also in a parade this weekend. I've seen a black one at my daughters school and assume it came from "Tallahasse Ford-Lincoln" as well, so two maybe..

Seems the same here, but I would say a good blend of urban and rural. A little of both. Lots of farming up in South Georgia and North Florida but also a LOT of asphalt and parking lots too

Here is the white one. The Shriners were in it at the Springtime Tallahassee parade, instead of the go-karts.
Edit: not the shriners in this photo. Those guys in the truck were members of the "Honor Flight " crew. It's where they take older veterans to Washington DC to see all the memorials. It's pretty cool. My wife took her grandad a few years ago and the both loved it.

You realize that before incentives, which vary from dealer to dealer; a $55k F-150 these days only gets you an XLT Crew cab w/ 4wd. You want Lariat crew? Drop another $5k on his desk and then the salesman won't laugh as hard. How well do those loaded up luxury trucks really sell out in farm country anyway? I would think people out there would be more interested in the XL or XLT work trucks. Something that they know is going to beat up in the field, so they're not a ton of $$$ when it does.

Gotta be better than the neighbors though...

When prices were good some guys were trading in their 4 year old beater King Ranches for new ones and bumping back their 2yo King Ranch to be the new beater. It is a tax game too, trucks can be a farm expense to use up extra money that would otherwise have to go to the govt.

Farmers run the gamut, some guys are still running a lot of 80's/90's stuff too.

I am more the XL/STX camp, on the truck builder thingie a nice XL Screw F-150 dressed how I want is mid 40's. FX4/STX Ranger is mid 30's.

My local dealer is big on Lariat's, King Ranches and Platinums. I suppose it is easier to talk a farmer into a doctor's truck than it is to talk a doctor into a farmer's truck.

BUT, when you go to finance a base model truck for $465 a month and the Fully loaded one is $500 a month, it is a little enticing to get the extra stuff for a few buck more a month. I made this mistake, when I went to get my wife a new car. we settled on a lower trim model got our payments to an affordable price> then the guy says"For another $65 a month, you could have a fully loaded one." My wife being the impatient person she is, said we already did the paperwork for this one, and we were trying to keep the payment closer to $400 monthly, so this is the one we're taking home. Next time, I'm going FULLY LOADED. ( minus 4wd )

"I suppose it is easier to talk a farmer into a doctor's truck than it is to talk a doctor into a farmer's truck." - sums it up pretty nice

That is how I talked myself into a sprayed in bedliner for my fantasy truck, spread out over years a $500 bedliner is cheap.

There are some things I like about the XL/STX/FX4 combo that the higher trim trucks don't have though.
