Fully loaded to me means Platinum or Limited level. And I know that ain't no mere $65/ month extra. That's more like $650/month extra on top of the XL. And this redneck ain't buyin' no Platinum! All them extra gizmos is more stuff to break later on! ;missingteeth;
Proven fact: If you buy a truck with crank windows, you'll never have to worry about your power windows breaking. And if you have a manual transmission, there's far less chance of anyone stealing it. 'Cause no one under the age of 40 will know how to drive it or open the windows!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Problem with manual trans and crank windows is they don't make them like they used to.

Maybe it is because all of the manual trans I like are old but they have a precise polished feel like a nice Colt revolver. Newer ones are kinda gritty and notchy like a striker fired pistol. They work, and are probably better but they are not much to write home about for the experience.

And manual cranks end up in weird places. In the past electric windows were added to doors designed for manual windows. Now it is the reverse so the cranks end up in weird locations that are not the nicest to operate.

My deal is I like the base radio with mechanical HVAC controls and the rubber floor of the XL. I am not opposed to the bigger screen but to get that it messes up my HVAC stuff and in an area where you run a heater/defrost on the way to work and A/C out the vents on the way home from work for 1/3 of the year going thru the radio to adjust that all the time doesn't appeal to me. STX gets you nicer seats and allows you get the FX4 option with the nicer front bumper and AT tires on alloy wheels.

Yeah I don't think I could get used to having all the HVAC controls run through that screen either. And my biggest concern would be the cost of repairs when that screen malfunctions. Electronics are sensitive to changes in temperature; and here in Pittsburgh it is not uncommon to see radical temperature swings within a few days, accompanied by a lot of moisture in the air. Combine those conditions with the constant barrage of road salt and other corrosive ice-melting agents that Penn-Dot puts down so liberally on the roads, this area becomes very hostile to an automobile. Especially one that's sophisticated enough that it may as well be a rolling i-Pad.
As for the crank windows and stick-shift, the vehicle I was referring to was the 2006 F-150 that I ordered new and drove daily for over 10 years. Loved that truck! Window cranks weren't badly placed, IMO. Transmission was the M5OD-R2, which does have a notchy feel. But that's what I'm used to. And I could always tell when I was in gear. If you're accustomed to an older, American-built manual transmission, I have not had the privilege of driving any of those except for a couple of 80's+ Mustangs with the T-5.

I am not sure what RANGER you guys are talking about but my 2019 Lariat has environment controls on the dash as well as through the screen. Our 2014 escape and my 2016 f150 ltx both have the same functionality..... what am I missing?

So I lost my mind and got back in the ranger family again. The last ranger I had was about 8 years ago and that was an 89 regular cab long bed with a 2.9 and 5 sp

Different trims have different environmental controls in different places. I think your Lariat has the dual zone controls where a lower trim truck has the defrost/vent controls.

Lol! Yeah I saw it earlier today. I've already ordered a light bar and am waiting to get a campershell. Then I'll look into placing a tent on top of that.
