I am looking for shock recommendations for my 2005 Ranger XLT 4wd. I am not taking it offroad, but I am an avid gardener who hauls a lot of compost and soil and such. I had air lift bags on my last ranger, and was possibly considering it on this one to help with the heavy loads. Any advice here would be appreciated.

I moved your post to the 4wd suspension forum... it was in the 2019 and up forum.

I've always used KYB shocks.

I'm not sure if air shocks are still available. I used them many years ago and they seemed to be fine, and allowed weight carrying adjustment for height. One of the cons I read about them is that they put a lot of strain on the shock brackets. Never saw that for myself, tho I didnt carry lots of weight. Now I use air bags because they were already installed.
