I just installed my JDM flip kit and dream beams on my '93 ranger and I measured the rear shocks length with the truck on the ground at 12 1/2". Is there a place to look up lengths and part numbers? In the end I would like to be able to go to the parts store and order a shock for a specific make and model, that way if I have a problem down the road I can just go to the store and buy a set and not have to wait for it to be delivered. Thanks in advance.

Ok so I had some time to comb through the Monroe catalog today and I found part number 33033 which has the same top and bottom mounts as the ranger. Back tracing the numbers it fits on the front of an 81 2wd K5 Blazer. The specs are 10.125 collapsed to 14.625 extended. This gives me 2 3/8" travel until the shock is fully collapsed and 2 1/8" until it is fully extended. Will this be enough? What is the collapsed and extended lengths on the "flip kit" shocks? Thanks.

Shock full travel is limited by the eye to eye length of the truck as it sits on level ground.....so you have the right ones...

now...if you want a smooth ride--cross reference a shock made for a car...

me personally---I bought adjustable rear air shocks and fill em up to 100psi when I carry a load/45psi with no load. (I had air shocks on the front also...the Ranger rode like a Lincoln.......... :icon_rofl: )
