i wish they would offer the parts in a kit, they all go bad somewhere down the line, being nylon there almost designed to fail.

ya know, i was thinking the exact same thing. I am not able to make it to my local parts department due to the hours theyre open, and thought someone should put the parts together and sell them as packets here on TRS.

May be a small business idea for ya.

I did it on a 93', I can check at the dealership and ask them what years the part numbers fit. I'm guessing any mazda RBV 5spd. At least 89' or 90' to 97' if not newer.

this procedure also works on the M5OD-R2 transmission found in the full size ford trucks. the part numbers match as well.

Is there a similar fix for my 84? It is so sloppy that it actually gets lost in 5th....if you don't pull the shifter towards the driver as you shift up out of 5th it just floats around all over the place.

HELP!!!

Hmmm, you probably have one of the older Toyo Koygo's. I'm not real sure on this. I'd say go and post a question in the tranny section of the forums. That way more people who know about the older tranny's will buzz in.

It can also be noted that the later model shifter bushings are a grey plastic and rarely wear out. I believe they’re found in the late model M5R2 and the M5R4.
