For Sale Selling flooded 1995 ford ranger xlt

I have a 1995 Ford Ranger Xlt that has around 55k miles on stock drivetrain parts. Last week I put some new KO2 tires 31x10.5/R15 that gave an extra 2 inches of clearance from the original wheel I had and wanted to test them in a mudding hole near my house that I've never had the traction for. Low and behold puddles are always deeper than they appear and the car sunk to the running boards and the engine died. Water got into the intake, transmission, and differentials and most likely other places. The tires only have about 50 miles on them. The truck also has a brand-new winch mount bumper, new grille, LED headlights, LED taillights, and LED third brake light. inside put a mid-level kicker sound system and stereo. If anything the truck is only good for those new mods and not much for parts. I'm selling the truck all in one, not parting it out. Make an offer

just sold it but I’m not deleting this thread just to keep the convos for future

I agree. If it only got up to the running boards, that’s not too bad. The differentials can be drained, cleaned and refilled. The transmission and transfer case vents are usually a lot higher. Are you sure water got into them? The engine is probably the worst of any of it. You need to get the water out f the cylinders quick before things get too rusty and make the problem worse. There isn’t much electrical stuff down that low.

I took apart the car to see the damage a few nights ago and it isn't good. Back breaks and all wiring near and related to that is rusted out and need replacing (looking at about $1000-$1500 for parts). Muddy water got into the oil pan which is an easy fix but looking at another few hundred for that. Fuel line needs to be drained and cleaned, more of the money is in my time than parts for that. the transmission has at least 2 inches of muddy water in there but most likely no damage but if I cant get it completely cleaned I'm looking at 1k at least for a new trans. And finally for big pieces of damage I opened the engine up and it was full of water and needed at least another $500 in parts to get that running. Dont get me wrong I love this truck but my dad doesn't want me to get into a money pit of a project car and I can't say no under his roof.

Realistically what would you have to have out of that thing? I would make the drive if the price is right .... (16 hour drive give or take)

Sorry about a late reply, life’s been a bit hectic. I’m looking to atleast get my money back on the wheels which cost 700 cause alone I’d be able to do that and a bit of pocket change for the recent aftermarket parts I put on

You'd probably be better off parting out the good stuff then. Even when selling a good truck you never end up getting money back on aftermarket parts. They are nice rims but they are attached to a salvage vehicle that may or may not ever run again. If you put 4 junkyard rims and tires on it the value would be the same.

Pretty much. I’d go look at/ consider buying it at that price... if it was closer.

Im just saying he could probably get more seperating the good stuff. Someone looking at that truck isn't going to buy it for the rims and tires so why not sell them seperate.

It does have a $500 AOR front bumper.

If it wasn't half way across the country I would probably buy it too.
