Got a pair of decent beige cloth bucket seat from the local recycle yard. Would like to swap driver and passenger bottoms & tops because the pass side is in better shape,
especially the padding. Looks like seat bottoms are the same, frame & all. Looks like seat uppers are not the same - frame is different. Can I switch the tilt/recline mechanism on the bottoms & move pass to driver and vice versa? Can I slip the covers off the seat uppers & reinstall them on the opposite side?

Couple photos to illustrate my thoughts:

Recliner mechanisms are left and right hand so no, if that's what you are asking

If you have no center console then yes but levers will be on inside of seats, seat belt would probably be an issue

Of course RonD is correct about whole seats not swapping side-to-side - BUT - can swap the covers side-to-side, then use original '88 tracks on the '93 frames & make everything look good. Do have to use different bolt holes with the '88 tracks on the '93 frames but holes are already there, just not tapped (bolts are self tapping). Even used the '93 console although I kinda don't like it as well as the aftermarket one I had before. Photo shows finished product.
