What practical use are running boards on a stock height ranger unless you're an elf, fairy, goblin, or other sub 3 foot mythical creature?

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
I came here to say what he said, but he beat me to it. So instead, I'll say.. what he said.

The only thing is they would protect the sides of the body from road debris damage (like rocks kicked up from the front tires)

I like the truck better without though.

I voted to leave them off myself.

But for no other reason then the truck looks better without.

That sure is a nice 2nd Gen...

Well, now that I've had time to think about it.. elves are pretty nimble, they'd probably be able to jump their way into the truck without boards.

Fairies can usually fly.. so there's that.

A goblin... as long as there's 2 gobbos (They rarely travel alone) would probably stab his goblin comrade and use his carcass as a step to get in the truck..

Gary Coleman would be effed though. So would that little lannister fellow.

My vote is no running boards. If your worried about debris you could always find a nice looking set of mud flaps for it. Good looking truck.

Running boards on this car? Yes.

Unless someone needs them to get in and out, I would vote no. If they are just for looks, all they are good for is collecting mud and snow. Mud flaps will do almost as good of a job protecting the body panels as running boards would.

They are mainly for looks, the truck isn't that high, so getting in and out is easy for most people.

Unpopular opinion: Leave them on. They don't stand out too much, they kinda blend it with the silver at the bottom. They will hold up way better than "mud Flaps", and are easy to clean with a water hose. If you have kids/grandkids, they can stand on them while hanging on the the Flag style Mirrors in a Parade, or something.

They just remind me too much of those horrible 90's "catalog trucks" with 4 million useless chrome bolt on accessories from the JC Whitney catalog and I don't think anyone wants to be reminded of that dark chapter in automotive history... Ugh KC daylighters and louvers everywhere! WHY WERE THERE SO MANY LOUVERS IN THE 90'S!? LOUVERS ON EVERYTHING!!! :shok:

Otherwise that is one nice looking truck.
