Hi,
I removed my box and refinished part of my frame...and there was some mangled up rubber bits that fit between the bed and frame when I yanked it off and cleaned it all up. They were a mess and I scraped them off and painted all that section of the bed.

It's almost like a single sided rubberized tape. Anyone know what it is and where I can get something like that?

95% of us do without that stuff, with no problem. Heck my ride and the parts truck didn't even have that stuff.

I suppose you could use any rubber, like an old floor mat, cut to size. Check the body line alignment first, to see how far up or down the bed can/needs to go up or down.

I replaced all of mine with washers! That being said, my frame/bed didn't quite fit together right so I was really just doing that to square things up but still - you really don't need the stuff. If you do want it, however, I believe rockauto.com has some. If they don't, LMC truck definitely will!

If you need to use this for your application, determine the thickness needed and then apply liquid dip it. Allow to dry and can be whatever size you need.

If you want to be fancy you can use small wood molding to form a mold and pour desired amount. Let dry and after removing frame you can trim with a utility knife.

Liquid dip it can be had at many hardware stores.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
They're just there to stop noise from metal to metal contact. Glue any piece of rubber you can get your hands on in there.

Just cut some 4" squares from an old inner tube, and glue 'em into place.

Hmmmm...must be a 3rd gen thing...mine didn't have any rubber between the bed and the frame...but maybe it might help a bit with the road noise...have to look into that before I change the bed next week or so...
