It's a joke, the stereotype is that French people and crows like shiny things. Our old body shop manager used to call super bright, arrest-me red French green back when 75% of the Explorers we sold were green.

I think you pronounce it " Dix neuf tres" ( deese noof tray )
93 is quatre vingt dix trois in French. Vingt is 20, quatre is 4, so quatre vingt is 80. They don't have a word for 90 so they say quatre vingt dix ( 4x 20's+10), then trois is 3. Dix neuf is 19 so 99 would be quatre vingt dix neuf. Doing math in French would suck but it would make sense to anyone who's ever worked on a French car. My last name is among the most common French names, it means drink wine, my mothe.rs family name is Stark, General John Stark first said Live Free or Die after the battle of Bennington, Vt, during the revolutionary war. I'm not a French American, I'm an American with a French name

My last name is an extremely generic white guy name. Could be English, Scottish, Irish, German, Jewish. At then end of the day, I got it from an Englishmen, although I am not related to him by blood.

At the end of the day though, I say the same thing as Walt, I was born in the USA, my parents were both born in the USA, and their parents were all born in the USA. I’m American.

Also, I think you should paint your wheel black with chrome in caps.

Not quite, my mother's family were here well before the revolution and the land I'm on has been in the family since before the civil war. My paternal grandfather was born in a house straddling the US/Canada border, he was American because the front door was in the US even though the bedroom he was born in was in Canada. He married a Canadian girl from the other side of town and she became American then.
Black wheels belong on taxi cabs and police cruisers, Krylon sells Dull Aluminum paint that is kind of a flat silver and Matte Aluminum that looks like polished pewter. I'd replace those wheels with some that weigh a couple tons less.

Last three generations of my family were born in Trenton. That’s almost the same thing.

My French is real rusty. I took it in High School, and all I remember is "Comment dit..." which I think means "how do you say..." ( example: student - "Comment dit '93'?" teacher "93 is quatre vingt dix")

Nope, quatre vignt dix is 90, quatre vingt dix trois is 93. I took French in high school, too, and I graduated 49 years ago. my grand parents and my father spoke Quebecois French and English. Quebecois compares to Parisian French like American English compares to the original, we say aLUMinum, they say ALuminium, for example. The word for head in French is tete with an accent over the first E, Parisians say tet, in Canada it's tate.

Starting in 7th grade when we went to the same school as the high school kids, they divided the glasses into 3 groups, these are my definitions: 7-1 was kids who got the best grades and were(they thought) headed for college, 7-2 was the "average" kids who'd would graduate, and 7-3 was the kids who had to be schooled by law and might drop out. I was in 7-1 due to my grades even though my parents couldn't have afforded college on a bet. The 8-1 kids got first year beginner French and French 1-4 were offered in grades 9-12. I was the only one who stuck with it so by senior year I was ready for French 5, even though it didn't exist. One girl who's schedule wouldn't allow her to take French 4 and I were put together as a class of 2 kids and we'd spend an hour a day from Monday through Thursday talking French with the teacher. On Fridays she'd have us play Mille Bornes in French so she could spend the time correcting papers. The fact that the French teacher was in her mid 20's and wore shorter skirts than my classmates had nothing to do with my continuing French. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I took French in 9th-11th grade. We had to have 2 foreign language credits to graduate. Me and one other 9th grader were the only Freshmen in a class full of 2nd year students. So the next year, we were forced to take French1 again with the "new" students, or move over to Spanish or German. I wanted to be able to impress girls with the "Language of Love", so we both took French for 3 years. Our French teacher was actually French, didn't use deodorant, and was rumored to be in an open marriage at the time. Also she was hot and by the 3rd and final year, I could speak in complete sentences with her. I would often speak to her in French when girls were around to impress them. "Comment allez-vous Madame Cody" " Formidable, et tous?" "Bien" That was enough to get the girls to say, "OOH what did you just say?"
