Just a thought since everyone's swaps the 2.9/2.8 for a 4.0. Has anyone ever dropped a 2.9 in an exploder?

maybe the motor blew and you have a 2.9 laying around somewhere.
even then I'd go find a JY motor or rebuild the 4.0...
I just don't see where it'd be worth it at all...the 2.9 barely moves a b2 out of its own way, much less the larger explorer..... I'm sure it could be done about the same way the 4.0 swap is done w/ the b2, get the motor, full wiring, ECM, so on... but why? I know money can be short for people but remember you get what you pay for? I'd hate to drive an explorer with a 2.9 in it.

I had considered this when I do my 4.0l swap, drop all my B2 stuff back into the exploder and re-coup some of the investment.

There is a guy on here who got fed up with the JY 4.0s he was buying and put a 2.9 in his 95 Ranger, same idea.

Not sure what all he had to do or if he has it running yet.

Guys I posted this just as a discussion thread. I personally wouldn't do it but this thought came to mind and wondered if I was the only one curious.
