Since 2018, there has been talk about Ford bringing back the Ford Courier as a smaller pickup under the Ranger. This pickup would be based off of the Ford Fusion.

You can find more details and photos in my article at:

https://www.blueovaltrucks.com/ford_articles/return-of-the-ford-courier/

What do you think? Should Ford bring back a mini pickup? What do you think about it being a unibody construction based off of the Ford Fusion?
I'd like one. For my reno biz it would work well for minor jobs, picking up some material, and doing estimates. Good fuel mileage is a bonus.

Ford needs to do something since they focked up the Ranger by making it a full size truck, rather than the min truck it originally was. Beside that, they're fockin ugly, or FUGLY as I like to say. You couldn't give me one. Nor pay me to have one. As Dalton would say, "There's no amount of money".

I don't see the concept as being bad, just different. The old Chevy El Caminos and Ford Rancheros were basically a car with a truck bed. I passed up an opportunity to buy a really nice El Camino a few years ago. Red, lowered, fat tires in the back, skinnies up front, built 327, no ac, just a motor under the hood, headers, cowl hood with the functional flapper door on the back, ladder bars. Still kick myself in the ass for not buying it. It was clean and I love the look from the back with those ladder bars and fat-ass tires. Guy wanted $12,000 for it and I had the dough easily. Damn it!

anyone seen the “roadkill” episode where they had a mazda (in the courier era) with a olds 455 in the bed? Im waiting for that show to do something with a ranger.
I think there could be some potential in the new design, providing they dont try to get 25K for them. the older lease rangers have disappeared from the local auto parts stores, replaced by nissan versa’s. this fwd platform would work for that useage easily.

Chevrolet has the Montana; Dodge...I mean Fiat...has the Strada/700; VW has the Saveiro; Nissan/Renault/Dacia has Logan. Ford hasn't had anything since Courier production ended in '13.

North America isn't only market for these vehicles; sell 50k/yr in Europe, Africa, South America and Asia. Then any you sell in North America are bonus - I just don't know how you get around the "chicken tax" if they aren't made in North America.

I'd sooner have the Ute based off Fiesta than Fusion - I want small truck.

Thought that thing was cool AF. Too bad about what happened to it:

Last it was seen by anyone, it was being trailered into Mexico. Odds are it was chopped.

I remember the episode where they said it was stolen, never heard any more about it until now.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Some people would buy it, strikes me about like a Ranchero did- not quite a car, not quite a truck. I'd rather have a truck sized like the 83, 93, 04, and 11 Rangers that I've had that didn't require a step ladder to reach over the bed rail or get in the cab.

It doesn't seem practical. But neither is a Cammed 5.0 ranger. Thats lowered but I have one of those.... i'd buy one used just to v8 swap it.
