Since 2018, there has been talk about Ford bringing back the Ford Courier as a smaller pickup under the Ranger. This pickup would be based off of the Ford Fusion.

You can find more details and photos in my article at:

https://www.blueovaltrucks.com/ford_articles/return-of-the-ford-courier/

What do you think? Should Ford bring back a mini pickup? What do you think about it being a unibody construction based off of the Ford Fusion?

Well that certainly is.... Australian....

Those types of cars never really caught on in america and I can't see that changing. They love em down in kangaroo country though.

I just want to put a coyote in it. If it truly is a fusion we know it will fit and take the newer mustang subframe for the rear suspension and maybe the front I think.

P.s. let the vehicular hermaphrodite jokes begin.

BLASPHEMY!!!!! My mustang had a trunk rack originally. I thought it was the most horrible thing in existence and I threw it out the day I brought it home. Turns out the weirdo guys who need "numbers matching" cars go ape for them and they are worth a fortune... I built my car as a 60s era hot rod and could care less about what's original. I just stick to the vintage with the exception of adding power disc brakes because I value the ability for a 300hp car to be able to stop without swerving violently.

Get rid of the roof racks and I'd buy one in a heartbeat. So what if it's a unibody...VW and Honda proved that their viable.
Besides, it's a light duty vehicle...your not going to load it up with a ton of 2x4's or twenty bags of concrete mix.
Just my opinion, but the 2 door looks great. 4 door could compete with the Honda Ridgeline.

I love the picture - look at the interior through the windshield and you can see the rear seats!

I like the concept though.

Meh. I predict it will end up being something similar to the Focus-based Transit Connect. Companies that need the utility of the pickup body without needing to worry about passenger capacity but want high fuel economy will buy a bunch of them and outside of that they will be rare for individuals to own.

Makes me think of the first Ford Ranchero based on the Falcon and the smaller 80's Chevy El Camino's

Could just make the ranger into an actual small pickup again instead of the same size as an f150... :dunno:

All the small pickups, tacomas, rangers and colorado's are barely different than their "full size" counterparts. A ranger bedside shouldn't require a ladder to throw crap in. I really doubt these things will sell. Chevy tried and failed miserably to sell a ute in america. Granted it was an abomination...

I sniff fuel for a living. Don't judge me!
Why do they have to make them look so car like? Do they want to take market share from Subaru?
