So I just pulled my grandad's old truck out from behind my dad's shop with a tractor where it has been parked for 14 years. I had it towed to a shop, so we can first get it running again. I'm trying to research about the truck to help determine what all needs to be done to the exterior. It has the words "Special Edition" on the side, but I can't find anything on the internet about what this means. It had a color code of 51- Dark Canyon Red inside the door, but it also seemed to have a unique stripe job on it. I can't find anything that looks like this trucks stripe job anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find resources that would tell me what makes the truck a "special edition" and what kind of stripe kit it had for it's paint job?

Thanks in advance for anyone that knows about these things. I'm trying to do a special thing for my dad to remember his father by who is now passed away. He's wanted to do it for years, but hasn't had any extra money to throw at a project like this, but now I can help!

Could you post some pictures? That would help give us an idea of what youre working with.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Special edition is apt to be a bunch of dealer added stickers.

Welcome, and it's great that you're wanting to fix up your grandad's truck.

Please do post some pictures of it. Besides the fact that we plain just like looking at survivor examples of these trucks, there's a lot of knowledgeable folks on here that can help you figure out what you have. And there's also a lot of repair and restoration expertise here.
