Resealing a small windshield leak.

I'm not sure if it's an old leak or not but there has been some minor damage to the edge of the headliner right behind the DS sunvisor. Mine has the rubber trim, not the metal type. Can that seal be removed and reinstalled or peeled back to inject some 3M urethane sealant under the trim? The videos I've seen show that molding already installed on the new glass before it's bedded into the sealant. I've never felt a wet spot there but it hasn't rained here since March. Any suggestions for sealing in place without removing rubber trim completely?

I have no experience with trucks of your vintage but my Explorers both have that type of rubber trim around the glass. It can definitely be peeled back a bit to add extra sealant, I had a leak somewhere and the Safelite place next to my office showed me how to do it. Very easy.

Thanks so much, I'll give it a shot then. I was concerned there was no way to get it back in place if it slipped out too far. I've used 3M's low viscosity urethane in a pet medicine syringe on several leaking rear hatches with good success.
