I recently started getting a weird problem. There is a buzzing like a relay buzzing coming from the passenger side. When this happens the car misses and bucks and has actually died on me a few times. The buzzing will continue for a few seconds after I shut the car off. Any ideas what this is. I saw on another post where someone said they had the same problem and it was a relay behind the kick panel. They stated they just pulled the relay and the problem stopped. Any ideas on what the hell this is?

Look behind the glove box. The door sides squeezes past open to swing out and down. A black box mounted to a steel mounting plate with wires on a connector. Mine buzzed but i never had a issue with it, just noise.

So I disconnected the relay and the issue stopped. Can anyone tell me what the relay is for? It does seem like the engine while running smoother is now down a bit on power.

The EEC power relay and fuel pump relay are up there on the older ones. Usually when a relay starts occilating like that it's a weak ground...

Weak ground to the PCM. The PCM grounds at the negative battery cable through a black connector.
