Look under the hood of your truck, clipped to the rad support. I never used mine, but I assume it's long enough.
If you are talking about the jack handle, I was taking about on a hydraulic bottle jack.

The one I believe you are talking about was only on the older Rangers. The newer ones have a sectional rod and the tire iron/crank handle that snaps together stored with the jack under a cover behind the seat. At least that is how the 1998 I had and my 2011. I never had an older Ranger. So I don’t know when at least some of the stuff moved from the engine compartment to the back of the cab.

With the new Rangers, the rods and tire iron/crank handle are under the seat and I believe the jack is behind the rear seat (I need to refresh my memory on that before I need it). At least with the Supercrew models.

There's a reason those are no longer included with vehicles or made. They are laterally (side to side) unstable, and thus dangerous.
You are so right! Those things were sketchy as hell!

but if you need to lift something heavy, it does it. i have two in the garage that we use to lift our 12x28 shed when it sinks, and the doors don't close properly. we made it into a cabin so its got kitchen, bathroom, and livingroom in it and finished out properly, its heavy. the hi-lifts pick it up with just a handle extension and a wider base.

i know we are overloading the hi-lifts since we have to put the extensions on the handles but i have nothing else that will pick it up

You need some railroad or screw jacks

I have a Hi Lift jack. Sometimes you just have to do what you got to do. They work well for removing old fence posts too.

i don't know what railroad are but i used to have one of those old school jacks that looks like a round big gear with a little latch that locks it from backing down. i think it was for leveling houses back in the day. someone stole it though, i guess because its gone.

i have those screw light weight jacks for leveling the rv. they are ultra light weight though and i think they would break trying to level the shed

I don’t think we are thinking the same things… both of what I’m talking about are in this picture…

That's what I was talking about, yes.
