Have a '02 Edge with the 3.0l FFV engine. 245k miles on the truck. Would like some info on fuel injectors.

Other than cost, are "rebuilt/repaired/ overhauled" F.I. any better/worse than just getting new F.I. ?

If a F.I. company "rebuilds''/overhauls F.I. exactly what do they do to them?

If a F.I. company just cleans them up and tests them for whatever, is that something I can do?

Any recommended F.I. companies to deal with?

Have you tried letting the tank get low and pouring some fuel injector cleaner in it? It can make a difference. Pour a whole can of sea foam in the tank when there is not much fuel in there, and then run it out and see if it makes a difference.

Google: rebuild fuel injectors DIY

Lots of how-tos and videos

Generally speaking you can get rebuilt injectors for $20-$30 each, exchange
If you live in or near a larger city there will be shops that rebuild injectors, you can take your 6 injectors in(exchange) and buy 6 already rebuilt injectors, or they will rebuild yours and you can come back and get them
Each is tested for spray pattern and flow

New are not any better but you get them now and can do the swap immediately, but cost a lot more, no exchange

2001 and up 3.0l Rangers used the same injectors for gas only or Flex Fuel
Earlier used different size injectors and different computer software for gas only and flex fuel, which is why you might see different part numbers if you are not year specific, and "grain of salt", some online sellers don't know that difference

I have sent mine off to Mr. Injector for cleaning/testing (https://www.mrinjector.us/) They did excellent work. IMO you are better off going that route than rolling the dice on remanufactured ones.

Thanks all. Ebay has a NEW set of VLD's (I think) FFV injectors listed for $90..... to good to be true and I contacted the seller about them.
