What did that trans come out of originally? Surely not a Jeep application, IH Scout/pickup maybe? Aftermarket adapter on the back? Curious why you'd use a divorced t-case in a short wheelbase vehicle like a YJ?

I'm sure you could rebuild it but maybe figure out why you twisted the output shaft first.

with a 1983 date of birth on it, it would be from a ford 250 or 350 behind a 460 or diesel, but the top cover is older...
