Hey All,

I'm going to attempt to DIY repair of some apparent shoddy paint work on driver side rear quarter door. I'm looking for some guidance around how to remove the rear quarter glass and what materials I might need to reseal/re-install the privacy glass once I'm done.

2009 FX4

Thanks in advance!

For any future searches or those who might be interested, I could not find anything 2009 specific but I learn that this process is generally the same as earlier model years. Here is a YouTube vid:

The process is pretty simple it seems..

1 Remove the internal door panel

2 Remove the (4) window nuts
3 Gently push outwards

Reinstallation is reversed, and the recommended sealant for securing/sealing the window is 5/16" butyl tape for auto glass. Cant locate any Torque specs for the window nuts - general understanding is you do NOT want to over tighten else risk breaking things. Go firm hand tight

Yeah, that, pretty easy, side glass would be a lot easier with 4 doors! It's the same for the back window too, not too bad other than on my '97 the panel clips are stubborn and I broke a few...
