That's the one...

Not a bunch of info... but the spec's say it's fairly sturdy.

Time will tell, hope it actually makes it to production with that option, and possibly a more basic model too. I'd still think a truck with a manual transmission should be less expensive LOL.

The page says its a modular design, so I assume it'll be able to be adapted to many different vehicles and for different power train power outputs as well. I guess at least that should mean same transmission regardless if its a 4x4 or 4x2 vehicle.

Does the current Ranger 4x4 have a 4auto setting? Or just part time with the terrain select system? The F150 has a 4auto setting if I'm not mistaken, I was hoping they'd do the same for the Ranger....the 4Auto or full time 4WD mode depending on manufacturer is great for here in Idaho where the roads seem to be constantly changing in the winter from snow/ice packed to bare asphalt and back again plus being able to just leave it in auto or full time mode for parking and such would be great.

Personally OP, I'd skip the add-on Fx2 stuff, with that you'd be money ahead in the resell value later down the road by just getting the base model XL with 4WD.

The current Ranger is part time 4X4. There is no AWD or full time 4X4 option.

Ok, thanks. I thought so, but thought I'd ask since it had the terrain management system.

Thanks for your reply. I think I'm going to wait till they release the next gen Ranger and go take a peak at them. I was under the assumption the 6 foot bed was only on the regular cab models, so glad to hear you can get it on the supercab styles too.....
The 5th gen only has one wheel base and there is no regular cab. So if you want a 6 ft bed the SuperCab is your only choice.

I personally hate the proportions on a SuperCrew, just looks wrong with that tiny bed on there. But they sell 10:1 SuperCrew vs SuperCab.

First thing we did to our SuperCab was take out the rear seat bottoms and rear headrests. The seat belts work great for securing luggage, coolers, etc. And the cushioned seat backs also help to keep items in there place and quiet, there's no noise as there would be with the hard plastic seat delete option.

I installed drawer liner material on top of the factory access covers so they wouldn't get scratched up.

Ok, thanks for the clarification on cab options. The supercab without the rear seats would work fine. When I did garage door installations my work truck was a 99 Ranger super cab, I used the back seat area for tool and parts storage, it worked great.

Lots of usable space back there without the seats, and having the back doors there makes loading and unloading stuff so much easier than my old 99 Ranger.

I see no fault with the thinking at all. While the newer Rangers have more room in the rear of the cab, I still wouldn't want to be sitting back there. Removing the rear seats is not a bad call. Eventually, I'll be doing that with my 2011. The days of someone being able to reasonably use those back seats comfortably have long passed.

I would almost rather ride in the back of a 86-11 Supercab than a '19+... yeah you ride side saddle but you have more than 3" of legroom room.

My thoughts as well. Sitting sideways would be far more comfortable than having your knees up in your throat. Even the supercab F-Series trucks in the 80's and 90's were quite cramped unless you were a small child, those back seats are useless...and now with all the child seat laws, they're 100% useless to many people. No wonder crew cabs are the norm now.
