Hey everyone,

I have a question about my '91 Ranger. So I bought this truck from my uncle about two years ago and it has been nothing but fun. It has a 4"-6" lift on it (I can't remember what he said it was). When you look at it from the side the front end is lower than the back end, so it "tilts". I'll put a picture at the end so you guys can see what I mean. But I was wondering if I can fix this with some spacers or maybe some bigger coils in the front? This doesn't seem to effect the handling or anything, it just looks awkward to me. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

McFuzzie

It looks to me like the coil springs on the front may be sagging. I'm not real sure though. Just my $.02.:D

Either stack some washers like mentioned or remove the coils, measure the height and order some new springs.

Thanks for the replies. I think I might try stacking some washers. Hopefully that works

Sounds like a plan, good looking truck BTW. I like the home made headache rack on the back.

The front is supposed to be about 2" lower than the rear... so when you are hauling almost anything in the back it isn't sitting with the rear lower than the front (which looks really really stupid)

I never really understood the point of leveling a truck. :icon_confused:

The word "tilt" we are using is called rake.

X2 on the not understanding why you want a level truck, a little rake never hurt, like it was said above, helps when hauling stuff, that is if you do haul stuff.

But to help, do the washer spacer thing said above too.

It just seemed weird to me because 90% of the other trucks I've seen don't have rake. I might not mess with it then because it drives nice and everything.

mine does ive been trying to level it out for some time now bought new lift coils when i first bought the truck didnt do it. I was told f150 coils would level it out didnt do it either, i would just leave it alone you like the way it rides just keep it and yours isnt to bad its looks pretty level for the most part.

If trucks are used heavily, they will squat on their own... the springs get worn out.

all stock trucks have rake but not all of them have a ton of it like my rear is 3" higher then my front and i love the stance i just wish i had bigger tires and a bigger engine to go along with it
