If you want to learn how to drive a Ford Ranger Raptor down a dirt road in the desert, then the Ranger Raptor Assault School is for you.

Check out:

Ford Ranger Raptor Assault School - The Ranger Station

I think the Ford Bronco Off-Roadeo is a far better experience. Ford sees the Bronco as an off-road vehicle, and the Ranger Raptor as a desert vehicle, but I personally think there will be far more Ranger Raptors being used off-road in an environment like the off-roadeo provides.

I don't know what the Ranger FX4 and Tremor is supposed to be to Ford. It's ridiculous that they allow the Bronco Sport at the off-Roadeo, but there's no program for the Ranger FX4 and Tremor off-road packages. There will probably be more of those on the trails than Ranger Raptors and Bronco's.

If I was making decisions at Ford.... LOL...... I would switch the 'Bronco Off-Roadeo' to the 'Ford Performance Off-Roadeo' and open it up to the Ford Bronco, Ranger Raptor, Ranger FX4, and Ranger Tremor.

Our spring and fall gatherings used to be called 'Round-ups'. Recently we started calling it an 'Adventure'. Maybe next year we need to host our own 'Ranger Off-Roadeo.'

I was out at the ORV park on quads last summer and someone had a bronco sport back there. It looked like a pretty pedestrian model, and maybe the guy couldnt drive...but what i saw didnt impress me to much.

Im pretty sure i coulda got more done in my 2wd ranger.

We went up a huge cliff in our Sasquarch Wildtrack Bronco. Used both lockers.

They had a Bronco Raptor there for a press thing, our instructor radioed back to bring it over for a demo. It walked up it without locking the diffs. They are certainly good more more than desert stuff.

Ford sees them as a cash cow, plain and simple. Really I kinda wonder how viable the off roadeo is. There were only 9 vehicles in our class... thats a lot of theatrics to entertain less than 18 people for a day, and more than half had a free pass from buying a car (which also nets the passenger a discounted rate)

Bronco Sport offroadeo is mostly driving dirt roads from what our instructor said.

Renaming an Escape The Bronco Sport is PURE genius. I have very little respect for the Escape; they are a vehicle that does one thing well...pick up the kids from soccer practice. Translation, the new soccer-mom van.

My mother in law had a newer edge, the one that is just a big escape. When the trans started doing that slipping deal they are known to do, she got a bronco sport. I think the bronco sport is an edge with a square body on it

Bronco Sport is Escape based and they actually killed the escape.

So, it escaped and became a Bronco.

My son-in-law has a 2004 Ford Escape. Maybe I should re-tag it as a Bronco Sport. LOL

Our three escapes were good cars. 14, 15, and 18. Drove them across the usa for family trips

I know that the facility in Texas is beautiful, and I said when I was there that I'd pay to come back and wheel my Ranger there. It's a bit much to be dedicated to just one type of vehicle. You could have a group of 8 Bronco's and a group of 8 Ranger Raptors going on the same day in different areas.

Imagine if the Ford Bronco had an event every year like the Camel Trophy that gained world wide attention, and those Instructors taught at the off-roadeo. Or the off-roadeo facility was a place to qualify for an event like the Camel Trophy?

Rover actually had a offroad event kind of similar to CT near the off roadeo grounds the same week we were there. We stayed in Marble Falls lol (no Rovers to be seen at Motel 6 FYI)

IMO Raptor needs to be above Sasquatch. If you want to baja, get a Wildtrack Raptor. If you want to rock crawl get a Badlands Raptor etc.

Perhaps Ford still had some things to learn from their ownership of Land Rover from 2000-2008.
