Thinking about building a headache rack for my 94 ranger. It will give me something to mount my lights to and also give me a place to throw in some lights that will shine into the bed.....might come in handy lol. Plan on making a back piece as well for a ladder rack later on that will be easily removable. Anyone have any of their own the wanna throw up or maybe give me ideas so I'll have something that looks good as well as functional instead of having a big ole turd on the back of my truck :icon_welder:

OK you have been here long enough for this..... USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION. There are all kind of links to home brew and commercial built headache racks there.

Yes i know how to use the search feature and use it quite often. Seen a few, was wanting to actually talk to other user about their ideas and maybe encourage people to post more pictures of their "home brewed" creations.

Search function....lol. Go to the Fab section and search there. There are a lot of photos of homebuilt racks....some not so good...and some really nice. I see them on Ebay sometimes for a good price. Check there and see if you like the design and maybe use that design to make your own or if it might be cheaper to buy it then build it.

I nosed through ebay and saw a few that were nice, i think im going to build some side rails into mine with ladder rack uprights on the back. Maybe quick remove? I need a ladder rack pretty bad but not wanting something thats a pain to remove for when i head up the hunting path. Been kinda brain storming with AutoCad, have a few ideas

all u need for a back ladder rack is a h shape that fits down into the holes on the side rails of the bed, then all u do to remove is lift up and its off

Thats what i did with my old truck but it trashed the holes after a while. thinking about a base on the side rail for one to slide down onto with maybe some quick pins

I was thinking about making a multi function rack that you could sit up high and have it over the cab and flip it around, remove the mid section and lay it on the bed rails, extended beyond the tailgate. Also if I got a topper I would make it fit into the topper.
