Ranger and mustand hoods compatible?

@Waldoduhh Try shimming the back of the hood, up by the windshield, up with washers. @PetroleumJunkie412 did this to his ranger for cooling purposes, but it might allow more airflow under your hood, to help your truck run as if there was no hood on it.
I simply removed the rubber seal that was under the rear of the hood. It was deteriorated and coming off anyways. Now when idling, you can feel the hot air escaping through the gap. Been that way for years.

Also, five of the 1.0 holes are in the hood directly overtop the big steel tube of my MAC intake, and the throttle body. All the rest are overtop the intake manifold. Yes, it's definitely running better. It doesn't get that heat soaked drop in power it used to get. That steel tube used to get HOT. Now it's just warm. Same for the manifold. But of course, it's not summer anymore, so that helps.

The air filter itself never has gotten very hot. The tube that connects the MAF to the TB does. It's directly behind and above the fan, so all that hot radiator air heated up the steel. Having four five 1.5 holes directly above it tones down the heat noticeably. In the area where the air filter resides, years ago, I punched a bunch of 1.25 holes in the inner fender. So the air that flows through the fender has a place to go. It worked, and the filter itself has never been hot. Except in the summer, and I don't care where the air filter is, in the summer, HOT IS HOT!

Besides, I bought the CAI for the sound and the appearance. But, as I've said before, I tried going back to the stock intake after having the CAI for several years. I hated it, the engine wouldn't rev like it does with the CAI. And hence, the entire stock intake is in a landfill now.

Here's the Ranger as it is today. Haven't done the two small scoops on the passenger side yet. Too damn windy to go out and mess with it. Maybe this weekend. The paint didn't turn out like I hoped. I'll redo it when Mother Nature lets me. At least the rusty appearance is gone. It's my daily driver ratrod in any event.

My stock hood was all beat up from hail. I had a local body shop put a new hood on it in 2015. It's steel instead of aluminum. My understanding is the Ranger's had an aluminum hood while the Mazda counterparts had a steel hood. So it may be a Mazda B3000 hood. Not for sure on that though. It was primer black and I left it that way. It may just be some generic aftermarket replacement hood. Wasn't expensive at all. Then it started rusting, the result being what it is now.

The indents are where the upper and lower surfaces are welded together. Or glued, have no idea. I left them alone except for the cutouts for the side vents. I faired in some black RTV on the inner surface where the vents are situated to cover and protect the paint on the edges. And to give them a finished look.

That's a heat vent that is right behind the radiator. Would work great. Your picture is small and won't blow up for me. Anyway, my Lightning has a hood with two carbon fiber heat vents, plus the cowl in the center lets a lot of heat out the backside. Sorry for mentioning the Lightning again. But it's for comparative purposes, not bragging. The two snake sys intakes are dummies.

That aside, what's the thoughts on the Ranger? I'm expecting the worst. LMAO!!
