hello i have a 1987 ford ranger i'm swapping 5.0 and t5 into, it was originally a 2.3 t5 truck, but it had no power so i sold the motor and trans to a friend, and need to know how can i use an aftermarket radiator fan to turn on when the engine needs it, or would it just make more sense to get a switch or make it run 24/7 when truck is on? also if someone knows while reading this, is there a good aftermarket solution to make it a cable not a hydro clutch, or would it be easier to make a bracket, new master, and exterior slave to make it work?

Good article to read on cooling fan here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/volvo_electric_fan.shtml

Article is found here, bookmark this page: https://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/index.shtml

Look in Cool and Heating section for more e-fan conversions

Also check out the conversion section for V8 stuff

Cable clutch would be a harder conversion, you would need to setup a bracket in the engine bay that pulled a cable back when you pushed the clutch pedal down, so a pivot arm with one end connected to pedals push rod and the other end for the cable end, and you would need enough leverage and movement for the clutch fork
And yes you would need an external clutch fork

Normal cable clutch setup looks like this: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/IDcPcAx1Kdq0tSZwgUbSCfkHFi2lub9Won3oUGqPU7AfJ83urL3mG9clvMwGhwQzNaaZ949EOG4kuS1oIso50qmzxCp1O2okA5WJ6gF5KvRak27FdQ

Ranger pedal doesn't have the lever on top and not sure there is enough room to add one
