I used a 90 ranger 7/8 bore master, 90 f150 slave which has the same part number as a ranger for luk on rock auto. And a 11 inch luk clutch from a f150 and 90 f150 flywheel. The way I bled it was with my friends hand pump from snap on.
I have an external slave cylinder. I think by '90 an F150 had switched to internal. My pedal has gotten softer now after putting a few miles on it. Basically the same pressure as the old style linkage and Z-bar type clutch, not terrible. Maybe it just needed time for the new PP to seat in or something.

What part number are you finding for the 90 Ranger that has a 7/8 bore? Everything on RockAuto says either 3/4 or nothing at all

FWIW, the F150 would have had an EXTERNAL slave IF it had a 4 speed and an internal slave if it had a 5 speed. This applies to all years after 1982.

One exception to that is the F250 and larger 460 gas or 5 speed diesel transmissions that also had an external slave cylinder (the ZF 5 speed.) BUT, the 4.9/5.0/5.8 ZF 5 speeds had an internal slave cylinder, similar to the Mazda 5 speed that is in the F150s.

You may think you have a 7/8" bore cylinder but bet it's only a 3/4". Took couple apart that were listed as 7/8" but only measured 3/4" Part was CMS39896..
