I have a 95 Ranger 2.3 with 5 speed. I recently got a cluster from a local boneyard. The donor Ranger had 95 written on the windshield. The donor cluster has the tach which was really the reason why I got it. Everything was pretty much plug and play After changing a few bulbs, everything seems to be working ok. I don't want to drive it to much until I find out what these 2 wires are that were not on my original. It is a black wire and a black/white wire. Small guage wires coming from the bottom left of the cluster. They are attached to some type of strip running along the entire bottom face of the cluster
Could someone please tell me what these two wires and strip are. Thanks for any info you guys can give me

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Wouldn't happen to have a picture, would you?

I was also hoping this swap would fix my odometer not working problem, but it still does not work. The check engine light is now on when it was not on with the other cluster. My main concern now is finding out about the wires. I am going to try to post a pic. Wish me luck.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
Don’t worry about that... it’s something a previous owner added.
It looks like an LED strip, maybe for an alarm or his dash lights didn’t work, etc.
