Hello,
I have a 1995 Ranger XLT 4x2. The tires are 225/70R14. I blew a tire and am looking to replace them all. I found a set of wheels and tires being sold near me that are from a 2011 Ranger XLT. They are 235/70R15. Would I be able to swap them out? Would I have to space the new wheels to fit? Thanks for your help!

Welcome to TRS :)

Its all about Diameter of tire not the rim/wheel size

Current diameter is 26.4", 8.9" width

New tires are 28", 9.3" width

Width is less that 1/2" difference so won't matter

Diameter is 1.6" difference, so 3/4" overall, so you would be good to go on that size

The front is where it matters the most for fender clearance when turning
You can have someone turn the front wheels side to side and see where the tire come the closest, if its more than a inch you are good

My credo
Health is wealth
Wise move switching to 15" wheels. Larger size 14" tires are getting hard to find & tread design very limited. Be aware that your speedometer will show less than actual speed with the 15s, don't want to attract the boys in blue!

Good call Rimjam

Forgot about speedometer with larger diameter tires

In 1995 Ranger still used speedometer gear setup, up thru 1997
So you just need to change the Driven Gear on back of transmission to calibrate for new tire diameter
Easy to do, 1 bolt
