In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

On a serious note though, I work in wastewater and have four children, one of which only has one kidney. I don't think healthy adults need to worry to much, but kids and elderly do, along with anyone who has a health condition. I'm terrified I'm going to track this stuff home. Prayers would be appreciated, you're all in mine.

I hear you... the good thing is that so far this has not affected kids that much. those that have got it process it without much issue, more like a regular cold. the elderly however, it has been pretty hard on. If you have the facilities at work take a shower before even getting into the car. or at the very least keep a change of clothes in the car and wash your hands and arms thoroughly and change into your clean clothes. put some disinfectant into the laundry when washing your work clothes and never wash them with the rest of the family. might be a good idea to disinfect the washer after washing your work clothes.

Stay safe. this will all pass in a few weeks just hang in there

Heck dad has been in the hospital over the regular flu (influenza A) He fought that for a week and went into the ER Sunday with pneumonia in both lungs.

It has been a rough winter...

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Up here in maine the panic buying of supplies (everything) has started. Good luck everyone!

I live in a hurricane state, I always have 3 months of food on hand and extra medicine.
But I also believe that EVERYONE should keep large amounts of non perishable food on hand year round.
Just remember FIFO, first in first out, so you don't let stuff expire.

In fact I have only one kidney thanks to a car wreck years ago. From what I've read it's not too hard on kidneys unless it gets to a later, much more severe stage where the kidneys are trying to clear out all manner of toxins.

It was like that when I found it.
As a healthy adult in my early 40s I spent 8 days in droplet isolation (4 of which I remember) from H1N1 in late 2009. Still probably not completely clear form the scar damage of bilateral pneumonia. This is not that for the VAST majority of us.

All I have to say about protection is wersh your damn hands often and avoid crowds for a while if you can. This too shall pass. Try not to lick any public door handles too.
