With all the new formula gas today if you let your vehicle sit for to long it completely screws up your fuel system.Propane sitting for any amount of time won't do that.

Hey guys, I need some info on propane.

http://www.gotpropane.com offers a kit, but it's over $1,000.

One of the pains in doing an engine swap in a off-road truck is dealing with fuel injection. Engine swaps use to be so much easier when things were carbed, but it seems you just gotta have FI to be happy on inclines.

Supposedly propane is like fuel injection and happy at odd angles unlike a carb. So the issue is, what is involved in putting propane on a motor that has a carbureted intake? Can you source the parts yourself without shelling out $1,000+ on a kit? Is this a bolt on application?
I am getting ready to strip the dual fuel propane set up off a friends truck, Its on a Chevy 350 w rochester quad. I am pretty sure its the standard IMPCO stuff I have worked with for many years. It has twin bed mounted cylinders. Almost bet he will ask if I want it for next to nothing, might work for you.

We currently sell propane at $3.95 a gallon... Don't think it's any cheaper.
I buy propane for $1.69/gal locally.

It is definitely cheaper than diesel or gas. But conversion kits are so expensive

A lot of oilfield workers on the rigs that used propane would also switch, because they could fill up on the job for free.
If you're going looking for parts at the wrecking yards, and there's any oilfields around you, you might have better luck if you head in that direction, uhmm, unless they still get by with that

found this kit online. It supposedly works on the 2.9 efi. I would still have to find tanks.
