This thing is going to look wicked with a lift and some bigger tires, I think the front end will grow into it when its bigger.

Runs great!

I took it down to Randle (2 hour drive) last weekend pulling my motorcycle trailer(~1500-2k lbs) and loaded with gear and camping stuff and it drove just like it does unloaded, feels like a V8 under the hood. Averaged about 18mpg. Unloaded freeway, it gets about 20-21mpg. When I have some fun with it though, it really guzzles.

I havent got video of it driving around yet, One of my cameras only takes 15 second clips, the other is cheap and doesnt record sound, and I cant find the charger to the good camera. Ill get my buddy to take some video with his camera next time we go out.

Updates?

do you have pictures of what you removed from the SOHC engine to make it 'like' the OHV motor? i have a ton of hoses and tubes on mine that i would like to see disappear, just wondering what you did.

thanks.

Finished the heater box...and yes there is still air flow... Im working on a lift for it right now, Ill get an update on that when im done with pics. I picked up some 34" LTB's a couple weeks ago, I cant drive it til it has the lift on it though.

There will be some serious updates very soon, ive been working on collecting parts...

Update...

So I needed a little more lift than what the explorer springs were giving me to be able to drive with the LTB's on. I picked up some goodies to help with that:

3.5" Duff kit from another member on here and an SJ AAL for the explorer springs. A set of homebuilt extended RA's as well as a couple of 1" coil spacers will accompany the front lift, Ill get to that in another update.

I also built some HD extended shackles, cost me a grand total of $20. Here is some pics of the construction.

Had to make some new sleeves that were 3" long instead of the jeep bushings 2-5/8" sleeves.

They are roughly 4" longer from pivot to pivot, should give me an extra 2" of lift. 3/8x1-1/2" bar stock, tig welded.

More to come very soon...
