I had to drive to the shiner brewery for a bike ride/race and decided to take the ranger for it's first real deal out of town trip. Other than needing to add cruise control, the truck was comfortable and did great.

A cold front blew in Friday as I was leaving so I suddenly had a headwind where I would normally have a tailwind. And it was a horrible head wind with the truck being blown all over the road and crap blowing across the highway from it.

Anyways, the truck got 16mpg for the trip at 75-80mph. And I am so glad I messed with raising the truck up during the week. That would have been a horrible trip with how it previously sat.

And I imagine coming home I got way better mileage. The cold front got rid of the normal coastal wind so I was pushed home.

Good ol' south TX norther, will blow you 'round!
Familiar territory, or used to be in a previous life many decades ago.
Hope the Tx Highway Dept maintains the roads as good as they used to.

They were working on some of them I traversed but the roads are still smooth across the state.
