My credo
The perfect is the enemy of the good.
This truck looks pretty good and probably a little more extreme than I'd want to go, but wow, nice. I think at least part of it you could do and still be legal.
Skid plate in front is pretty radical but no doubt highly effective. Looks like no passenger seat. There must be a lot of money in that truck because the whole
suspension looks totally different and the travel is immense. I don't see the steering so it must be modified too.

This what you would call a trophy truck prerunner..some are street legal, most are on a trailer. When I lived in Southern California I saw thousands of these in the desert when I was out there often. Knew alot of people who built them and raced them in all kinds of desert races, and those who would go and have fun cruising thru the dunes. I also saw a lot of home made prerunners just slapped together with different parts. The trophy trucks have endless funds into them. The homemade trucks barely have anything into them.

Most have steering modifications to go with the suspension setup. The picture is 98+ style suspension..it will act and be different from 97- style suspension. Big debate over the years onto which is better for desert racing. Most prerunners are 2wd, more intense they will use 4wd. From who and what I have been around and seen..I prefer 97- suspensions.

Prime example of a trophy truck is look at raceranger97 build.

i wonder why there is a cut out in the bottom of the driver door? is there a tube so you don't have to stop for bathroom breaks? it just dumps out into the dirt? maybe its a step to slide into the door, bukes of hazzard style?

I always wanted to build a pre-runner…. Kicked it around a bunch and I’ve looked at fiberglass fenders and stuff a few times but haven’t got serious about it….yet…

If you look... there is no door handle. So my guess would be the doors don't open. That cut out is a step well to get in the truck.
