I just bought a pair of Power Stop S4606 brake calipers for my 1998 2.5L 2WD Ranger, and I'm not sure that I bought the correct part. I bought them from Rock Auto which had them listed under the parts for my vehicle, but the Power Stop website shows that the S4606A calipers (not S4606) are meant for my vehicle. I contacted customer service at both Power Stop and Rock Auto about this, but neither have responded to me yet.

What are the difference between the S4606 and S4606A brake calipers, and will the S4606 calipers fit on my vehicle? thanks

My credo
I poop in the furnace.
There are two different size brakes for the ranger in that year. The v6 4x4 trucks had slightly larger rotors, the 4 cylinder 2wd trucks had the smaller. A quick look at powerstops website shows me that the 4606 is for the larger v6 4x4 trucks and the 4606A is for the smaller 4 cylinder 2wd trucks.

So you need the S4606A.
