Hi all

('99 4.0 4x4)

Recently I've noticed a small puddle below my front end everytime it's been parked.. (first started after my last oil change, so i thought they mightve overfilled something but it's continued...) I checked under the hood to see what was goin on and it appears that the power steering fluid is not leaking but spurting up towards the corner of the engine compartment. I've had someone watch under the hood while I crank back and forth but each time nothing seems to happen.. It's a bit puzzling.

Also, the temp has been around -20 to -10 C since before this started.

I won't have the space or time to get under for a better look til the end of the week, but that will only be after a 450km drive.....should i be concerned about this before the trip? Anyone have this problem before? I stopped in at Ford and he told me I need to let it warm up for at least 3 minutes, and that's the problem. And then I just about backhanded the guy. I didn't though.

Anyways if you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks.

My credo
JESUS Loves Ya!
could be spurting from a hair-line crack in the steel tubing that opens once the fluid gets hot/ or a loose fitting/or a bad o-ring under the fitting......

make sure the resevoir stays full of fluid.....GET A GOOD FIRE EXTNGUISHER FOR YOUR VEHICLE....in case it sprays on the exhaust manifold....(that happened to me a couple months ago!)

Problem is....it may not get worse for a while.....ORRRRRRR...it might break completely aloose & soak the whole engine......BOOOOOOOOOM!
