85 Bronco II

My 85 B2. got it for $50. front end was totaled.. found a parts one at a u-pull and I talked the guy into trading me parts for parts plus $50. I also changed the red inter. to the tan E.B. I don't have any pics of it at first, but this is what it looked like after I changed the front clip and drivers door. And got the pop open rear hatch glass...

This is with a 2" body lift.. and a u-pull 4" ruff country lift that was on a 87 B2, got it for $30. Testing out a 33"

Now it was time to make it all one color... so I put the Hurculiner on the bottom half and painted the top with a hammered look gloss black paint..

Much better, then I found a set of 37" on 15" Allied true bead lock rims..

Time to trim the wheel wells a bit. Also I built me a new rear bumper..

Next a 4.0 v6, new front tube bumper with a 10klb winch. Also a D30 front axle and a 8.8 LSD. and make me some front long travel arms.
I'll keep posting when I get things done.. Thanks, Chris.

Hello guys! New to the forum here. Just bought me a Ford Bronco II for $500.
Looking to start my off-roading hobby again.

Shes not much to look at right now.

Came with a blown head gasket, hoping to get it up and running real soon.

Nice truck. Better have the heads checked. It's a 2.9 thing, and I'd bet money that at least one is bad. In fact, you should probably just let me come on down there and take that off your hands... ; p

Reading my mind...I was going to say the same thing. Either way, a 500 dollar bronco with 300-500 dollar heads is worth it in my book. It looks nice and clean.

Well I got the head gaskets replaced had the heads looked at. said they are fine. This is were it went down hill. Still runs rough can't keep it running. Blowing oil out of the dipstick. lot of smoke coming out of PVC valve on valve cover. Did a compression test on it cylinder 1 has 110psi the rest have 50-60psi. Guessing the rings are bad. So I'm done probably going to part the truck out or scrap it. Complete waste of money.

So you're going to take apart/destroy a perfectly good 4x4 truck (that has the D35 frontend under it, mind you) just because the engine is bad??

I'd be dropping a 4.0L in that thing in a heartbeat! '89 & '90 BIIs are the easiest ones to do so on, they literally bolt right in and plug & play using a 4.0L from a '90-'92 Ranger... :icon_confused:
