Plugging jump seat bolt holes?

I'm in the middle of replacing the carpet in my B2300 and have decided not to reinstall the side jump seats. I'm concerned about water kicked up from the tires possibly seeping through the bolt holes. Is it OK to fill them with silicone?

Sure. But why not just put the bolts back in them?

I'm putting down soundproofing material and it's better
if the surface is flat.

Put down the matting, cut holes for the bolts and install bolts.

Silicone will work but if you ever decide to reinstall the seats, silicone holes will be a PITA to get out. "Murphy's Law" not mine.

I would probably cut some bolts to about 1/2"-3/4" long. Then use a hacksaw to put a screwdriver slot on one end. Apply blue or red Loc-tite and install until top is flush with floor.

I would just leave it.

Do the bolts go through the floor? If so, why not install them upside down? Meaning, crawl under truck and run them up instead of down? You could use washers to space them back so the ends don’t poke up and silicone over the bolt heads if you change your mind later.

Determine the size and thread pitch and install set screws....

OR...

Determine size and install push pins... christmas tree pins... whatever you want to call them.
