Plug wires for 4.6 F150 (maybe 5.4), get 'em cheaper

I noticed the plug wires that are F150 specific were about $61 dollars at Rock Auto for the original set (Motorcraft WR5934). But I had also noticed the 97 Mustang wires (Motorcraft WR5938) were $31 a set. So I did some more research and found that if you buy certain aftermarket sets, they are for both the F150 and Mustang. So, I decided to give it a shot and see if I could make it work. While the Mustang wires are a little bit shorter, they indeed worked perfectly if routed slightly different from factory.

This might be useful info to someone trying to save a little on a tune-up. Thirty dollars is a big deal to me with these inflating gas prices (and everything else).

Compared to the $14 a pop I paid at the dealer for the coilpack boots for my '02 with the 5.4...

That is one thing I do like about the earlier trucks of that style, I think it was in '99 they went to the COP setup.

I agree. I'm no fan of COP set-ups.
