Hello,

[87 Ford Ranger, 2.9L, 5sp (fm145), 4x4, regular cab long bed]

I am reconnecting my 87 Ranger's engine bay wire harness. On the driver's side between the brake master cylinder and the compartment wall, I have 1 female and 1 male harness/component Jack that I do not remember what there are for or to what they connect. I do not yet even see the counter part jacks.

I am including pictures and descriptions.

#1 is gray, round housing with 2 round male connectors. It has 2 unoccupied round female connector sockets.

The wires to it are:
light green w yellow stripe
light blue w black stripe

Mines not hooked up nor does it look like its ever been hooked up. Not sure what its for.....atleast the round one.

Forgot to check the square one but it might be for the brake warning light.

Thank you very much for responding 🙂
After I posted, I looked in the 87 Bronco's engine bay. The gray round connector is there, it connects to wiring that goes forward towards the headlight bundle.

I will look over the brake master cylinder again, I may have become blind in my panic.

Wonder if that round plug is some sort of daytime running light for canadian vehicles? I know its mandated in canada but not sure how far back.

I think the plug goes below the master cylinder. I cant remember. I havent messed with one on a ranger.

The "square" plug does not go to the brakes.

The round gray plug is plugged in on the BII (which does not have "daytime running lights") but I can't test it beyond seeing it go past the washer reservior towards the headlight bundle.

On the Ranger, the headlights and running lights do powered up, so I'm sure that's not it, unless, well, I didn't check the hi beams.

The Ranger has been sitting a while, I am charging the battery over night, hope to twist it in the A.M..

Tomorrow, at the recomdation of a good mechanic friend, I will take power reading from the "unkonwn" female connector.

If it causes issues while running, I suppose chasing down on the wire diagram will help ..)
